"Leading the way with the Internet" – under this motto, the "KLICK Competence Center for Electronic Commerce" in the german federal state Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz) once again announced the KLICK Prize for 2002. KLICK was set up by the federal government in 1998 to support companies in Rhineland-Palatinate on their way to the Internet. The prize was awarded to the best e-business solutions of small and medium-sized enterprises in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The focus is on integrating e-business into the company's business processes (e.g. in the areas of marketing, procurement and sales).
Under the motto "be better- be online", the KLICK award for the best Internet presences of Rhineland-Palatinate companies was presented at the conference center of the Trier Chamber of Commerce and Industry on January 31, 2003. With Prof. Dr. Rolf Weiber from the University of Trier and the managing director of eBay GmbH Germany, Dr. Stefan Groß-Seelbeck, two top-class experts on the subject of "eBusiness" could be won as keynote speakers.
For the second time, nine companies from Rhineland-Palatinate were awarded the KLICK Prize for their exemplary Internet presences. This year's award ceremony was chaired by State Secretary Harald Glahn, Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture of Rhineland-Palatinate, as well as the Vice-President of the Trier Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Peter Adrian and the Chief Executive of the Trier Chamber of Crafts, Hans-Hermann Kocks.
The event was organized by the Euro Info Centre Trier, which coordinates the "Competence Center for Electronic Commerce" (KLICK) set up by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor (BMWA) and is also a member of the consulting network for eCommerce (CONNECT) launched by the Rhineland-Palatinate state government.
